Website (Domain) names
are an essential part of doing business - for email addresses, websites, logos, sales material etc. Here are a few points worth noting about your website name registrations:
- Your Website Name (Domain Name) is a key business asset and should be looked after. Previous employees or business partners shouldn't have access to the registration login
- If you don't re-register your web name when the registration expires, a competitor can register it
- A .com website name can be registered immediately if it's available. But an Irish .ie website name registration requires that you have the corresponding Irish Business Trading Name or Irish Ltd Company Name
- You can register a Business (Trading) Name with the Companies Registration Office here for €20 online or €40 through the post. Then we can register the .ie in your name
- You can register website names here, or we can register website names on your behalf and in your name. We can also re-register website names or retrieve login details for old website names
FREE .com OR .ie Names With New Business Sites
If you're designing a
business website with us, we'll
register a free .ie or .com website name for you. We'll register the website name in your name, and we'll just be the administer of the name and we'll remind you when the website name needs to be registered, and do it on your behalf too.
You can still use the link below to search for the new website name you want. Once you found a name you like, email us and we can register it on your behalf.
Find Your New Site Name
- You can search here for the new website names that you want. Just enter the website name you want e.g. murphy into the 'New Domain' box and then select from the dropdown menu whether you want a .ie, .com etc. Now press the 'next>>' button.
- If the website name you entered has already been registered you will be informed on the screen with a red 'Registered'. If the website name has not been registered you will be told that on the screen with a green 'Available'.
- You can keep trying different names until you find the one you want. You can register the name there yourself or you can get us to do if for you. We'll register the new website name in your name or business name, and we'll register the names for free if they're part of a website design package with us.
